Atrani

The Green House, where we stayed on our second trip to Atrani, was a special treat. The year before, my husband and I were fascinated with this honeycomb-like architecture where all homes seem to be interconnected. We could not resist returning following year. The Green House is especially unique because it is situated against a steep hillside with two beautiful outdoor spaces. Off the cozy master bedroom is a huge terrace with panoramic views of Atrani. The rooftop patio has amazing views of Almafi Drive, as well as the small beach below. Both outdoor spaces are totally private. The apartment is compact but well laid out to maximize the views and the use of natural light. Also off the master bedroom is a freshly renovated bath with beautifully colored local tile of hand-painted high-end craftsmanship. Such tile also covers the floor in each room. There is also sitting area with a kitchenette which has a cook top for coffee, a small fridge and of course beautiful ocean views. Parking is handy via a semi-private garage at ground-level, serviced by an elevator. Our hostesses, Filomina and Silvana, waited at the garage for our arrival, and handled details about the luggage and finding the apartment. Both ladies handled any questions throughout our stay, and Clare checked on our needs each day . When we left, Claire and Silvana hugged us goodbye and wished us pleasant travels.
